– It’s a strange but nice place, worth seeing, she said. She was talking about the village Lacock in Wiltshire, England. The entire place is owned by National Trust.
None of us had heard about this place before, but as we were heading in that direction anyway, why not pop by. Lacock has kept its old look. People here are not allowed to change any of the exterior. National Trust owns this place and seems to take well care of it, making Lacock perfect as location for movies and series from the old days. Like the BBC’s TV-series ”Pride and Prejudice” from 1995 (the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy). Lacock played the part as the series’ fictional village, Meryton. The Harry Potter-movies and now the latest movie ”Maria Mundi and the Midas Box” are using Lacock as filming location as well.
And what is this…?
Village lock up!
