Behind the scenes

– It’s a strange but nice place, worth seeing, she said. She was talking about the village Lacock in Wiltshire, England. The entire place is owned by National Trust.

None of us had heard about this place before, but as we were heading in that direction anyway, why not pop by. Lacock has kept its old look. People here are not allowed to change any of the exterior. National Trust owns this place and seems to take well care of it, making Lacock perfect as location for movies and series from the old days. Like the BBC’s TV-series ”Pride and Prejudice” from 1995 (the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy). Lacock played the part as the series’ fictional village, Meryton. The Harry Potter-movies and now the latest movie ”Maria Mundi and the Midas Box” are using Lacock as filming location as well.

I hope you are having a wonderful adventure and that the Defender is behaving herself- ready for the next step in the challenge for all of you?

    V & M, Bentley, Vesper and Sol

P.S We went to a regatta on the Thames over the summer, where they had a dog race (approx 120m track with some barrels to jump). After beating the competition in the heats, the winner was no other than our super star boy – Bentley. He even won a little trophy!!!!!

    • Hi!

Ah, so nice to hear from you again! 🙂
We have had a great summer, and although there have been issues with the Land Rover, Joe could fix it all.
We have truly enjoyed the British isles and it feels like we have been everywhere.
Yes, Lacock was strange but nice. So “oldy wordly” as Joe would say. 🙂

Wow, Bentley is impressive – such a good dog! 🙂 And a trophy!
      Congratulations 😀

      Hope you are all fine.
      Keep popping by.
